I realised I haven't blog for a whole week! It's the longest I've gone without blogging eversince I switched to Blogger. Old habits die hard, I guess. I have no idea what to blog actually. I think that it's more like nobody cares about how my day went so I have no motivation to blog my daily deeds. I honestly believe that the only one who reads/checks my blog is my wife 'cause she would typed out my URL even when I'm with her and I have to rebutt her by saying "I haven't blog anything yet!". Oh well....
I came into the office late today. Actually I haven't been early at all this week. My body aches when I wake up, more so my legs from RT training which I have to go thrice a week now since I failed my IPPT 2.4km run by a mere 5 seconds. I shall always tell myself this now, "when your body tells you to stop, your mind should be strong enough to say no". If only I had
tahan a lil' bit more. I'm gonna try again this Tuesday. Wish me luck on that one. I did a lil work when I came in then I find myself looking through the new drum & bass catalogue in
Chemical Records. Looks like I've been missing a lot of new music lately. Might have to start ordering records again. Well, I haven't even setup my turntables yet eversince the room got renovated and I got married. Been pushing away the task. I think I shall get it up soon. At least, it'll give me something to do in the room should Wifey needs to raid my laptop again for her work. The adaptor on her laptop blew the other day. We need to get a new laptop and a desktop soon I guess. Shall we, hun?
We made quite a profit from our lil flea market venture last Sunday. Sold off a couple of tees and CDs at 5 bucks a pop. Took some of the profits and blew them off on a new Fred Perry carry-all which I eyed that'll be perfect for me to lug the laptop to work. Wifey got one herself too, a smaller cuter bag for work as well. It was pretty fun actually. I would love to do it all over again

I have joined the newest revolution in social networking sites,
VIRB. It's cleaner, fresher and a whole lotta cooler than
MySpace is. Trust me, in 5 years time, MySpace will go down the way
Friendster did and VIRB will be the next big thing. It's super user-friendly to customise too. And I just hate how some people like to clutter up their MySpace profiles. VIRB has none of that crap. The default profile page is so slick that you don't even have to do anything to it. Get on it, add me while you're there at
http://www.virb.com/wancornelius. I'm only the 39th Singaporean on that one but I'm sure the numbers will grow soon. I'm planning to get my hands dirty and do some sprucing up. In the meantime, join it and don't get left behind, like how some people are still using Friendster... *shudder*

Hey folks! I have an exciting preposition for all of you. Please pay attention..
I recently joined AGLOCO because of a friend recommended it to me. I am now promoting it to you because I like the idea and I want you to share in what I think will be an exciting new Internet concept.
AGLOCO’s story is simple:
Do you realize how valuable you are? Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf. How much of that money are you making? NONE!
AGLOCO thinks you deserve a piece of the action.
AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members. (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user. And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube’s users did not get paid for!
AGLOCO will work to get its Members their share of this and more.
AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network. They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they’re building a community that will generate the kind of fortune that YouTube made. But instead of that wealth making only a few people rich, the entire community will get its share.
What's the catch? No catch - no spyware, no pop-ups and no spam - membership and software are free and AGLOCO is 100% member owned. Privacy is a core value and AGLOCO never sells or rents member information.
So do both of us a favor: Sign up for AGLOCO right now! If you use this link to sign up, I automatically get credit for referring you and helping to build AGLOCO.

Alright, here's some info on where I'll be during the coming weekend!

This Friday, dbl 0 and O Bar are celebrating their 7th & 9th anniversaries respectively and we are also launching our line of dbl 0 Clubwear. Free flow happening from 8pm to 10pm for invitees only. Those interested to attend, can hit me up on MSN or email and I can fit you into my guestlist. Oh, and dress to impress!!

Saturday, I'll be on VJ duties once again as Beats Society brings the next installment of our monthly series, Speakeasy. I can't wait for this one mainly because we doing away with the chairs and it's gonna be a straight-up party with the Dubwise DJs and DJ Vortex on the wheels of steel with lyrical accompaniment by MC Shino, MC Young, AC & MC Yama. Hip-hop meets drum & bass, ya'all!! Entry is at $4. It's all happening at the Glass Hall, Singapore Art Museum from 6pm with an afterparty happening at Ice Cold B's (one of Emerald Hill's outlets, again!) at SMU thereafter.

When Sunday comes, me and wifey will be hawking our second hand wares alongside Mrs Purr & Mr Russian Tomkat at Zouk's Flea & Easy. From 2pm to 7pm, come and pick up a few bargains instead of sleeping your Sunday away! Hey, life's too short for just that!!
It's gonna be a maaaaaaaaaaddd weekend!

It's Wednesday so it's time for some midweek updates!
I was at Batam last Sunday with about one quarter of the family clan, celebrating Mother's Day there. It was a surprise for Mom really, trip being put together by my eldest brother. It's not easy trying to get everybody together for my family seeing how our numbers can easily swell up close to a hundred, children included. It was Wifey's first time to the island too so she was pretty excited about the trip as well. We had some seafood on some kelong restaurant where even though the scenery was nothing to shout about but the food was delicious, alright. Some of us also treated ourselves to a round of massage, a perfect antidote to the start of the work week. Of course, there was shopping. I came away with a preppy looking sweater which merely cost me SGD$18. That's too cheap! Wifey bought a pendant that's somewhat similar to the one she lost. Here's some piccies!
Wifey & her niece-in-law, Shikin
Awwwwww.......
Yes yes, that's a shark alright!
Some unidentified cool-looking sea creatures
My niece, Na'ilah playing with her new pet
The customary group shot
Aaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww..... (Part 2)As for Monday, I went to Sentosa! For lunch! Don't get me wrong, I was working on Monday alright. Except that the marketing department (all 4 of us), headed off to one of our outlets, Coastes for a celebratory birthday lunch. For Andy who turned the grand old age of 29. I love the food at Coastes but unfortunately the Aglio Olio, my favourite, was a bit off-form on the day (What?! No prawns?!?). The Seafood pizza redeemed the meal for me though. And of course that refreshing delicious glass of The Slushie! Yummy! We had a round of luge-ing after that since the luge attraction is just next to Coastes. Can we do it again for my birthday in July, please? *batts eyelids* Oh.. and Happy Birthday Andy! Hope the Zen Stone comes in handy!
(l-r) Faiz, Fran & Andy, the crazy folks who I worked with in the Marketing Dept.
Food, glorious food! The BBQ chicken wings and the yummy-licious Seafood pizza!
More food! Fish & Chips & my favourite Aglio Olio!
The famed Coastes Slushie. Come to papa, my dar-ling!
Going up and up.. The ascent to the Luge starting point
The one which took us up
The view from up there
So happy ah you, Fran? Must be the air
Me & Da Birthday Bwoy!!
Ah cantik lah tu! Us gaming it up for the cameraAs for Tuesday, there's nothing to report cause nothing exciting happened to me. Bummer. But I did went for a run at the track at Toa Payoh Stadium. Will do me a whole lotta good for my upcoming IPPT test this Thursday. Wish me luck!

1 more week of RT. That's all I have left to go. Next week's IPPT too. I sure hope I can pass it. I don't wanna be in phase 2 of RT.
NO WAY!I managed to get my hands on a leaked copy of the new
Linkin Park album, Midnites To Midnight. I must say it's a huge depart from their normal rap-rock sound. I guess they're trying to steer away from the "rap-rock" label which I think is a pretty good move seeing how other "rap-rock" bands are faring (Limp Bizkit anyone?) This new album sounds edgier and more "adult comtemporary rock", bringing along an epic-esque sound, than their 2 previous albums. In fact, on some songs, I could have mistaken them for
Angels And Airwaves, the band fronted by former Blink 182's Tom Delonge. Even the cover art is not normal Linkin Park. This is the 1st time the members of LP actually appear on their cover. So for those looking for more of that rap-rock hybrid that Linkin Park does so well, you're gonna be disappointed with this one. Very different indeed..

I had my haircut yesterday at the new salon of Designer Guy. I love my haircut. Plus my highlights are still there! Abang Awie is the man lah! Wifey got hers cut too, to a shoulder length. It's a nice fresh change..

The United States government has unveiled a new series of bank notes today. In a fight against counterfeit bank notes in circulation now, the new series will be harder to replicate. According to some citizens we interviewed who were among the first to have a feel of the new notes, 90% of women interviewed revealed that they prefer the new notes as it is "cuter"... - CNN
WOWZAT!!!!!! Who's Your DADDY!!?

Woohoo! My new Spidey toy, free from Burger King. It'll now take pride on my work desk. Heh

-4:48 PM

After a long wait, I've finally managed to watch Spiderman 3 on the big screen. And to tell you the truth, I was kinda disappointed with this installment. Don't get me wrong, it's good, no doubt but I just have this nagging feeling that they could have done a much better job with it. Gwen Stacy (
Bryce Dallas Howard) was forgettable. Flint Marko AKA Sandman (
Thomas Haden Church) was given too much screentime in the beginning and ended up as a mere tool to Venom. As for Venom, it's unforgivable that they did not explore his character more, killing him off as soon as we are about to get to know him. So much for Spidey's supposedly arch-nemesis eh. Also the shaking
MTV/Cops style cameraworkin most fight scenes looked so out of place in a movie full of slick special effects. They tried to to do too much, squeezing in too many characters and storylines, just so they can close the trilogy. Spiderman ended up being just like the
Matrix trilogy, promising so much at the beginning but a big let-down at the end.
I need a new laptop. Two new ones, in fact. One to run
Resolume, my VJ-ing software that I use every
Speakeasy and one to run
Torq, a digital DJ-ing software. The one I'm running now is slowly crawling with all the softwares loaded in it. I just need the current one to run my graphic softwares like Photoshop but now everything is being cramped into this one and it's working rather slowly. So slow that sometimes I have the urge to bang it on the table while it's trying to render a Photoshop effect at tortoise speed. So anyone has a particularly good laptop to sell me then? I'm even contemplating to switch to Mac but I shouldn't give in to the dark side cause I sure know Mac = Wac(k). Heh

Oh and I just love this poster for the new movie,
28 Weeks Later. They should have used this as the official poster instead..

Good Saturday everybody! And I've finally secured tickets for Spiderman 3! Yes ah! Midnight show later at The Cathay so I'm still home resting while the wife is sleeping. She had work just now which I think is nonsensical 'cause office jobs aren't meant for 6 days week. I really hope she gets a new job somewhere else. She hates the job currently and if she hates it, then I'm hating it too. :P
And today being the 5th of May marks
Cinco De Mayo day! Which I doubt any of you know. So go read wat the Mexican holiday is all about on the Wiki link. I love Wikipedia by the way. So much information in there. Anyway here's a piece of Cinco De Mayo memento I wouldn't mind..
And let me leave you with a lil' piece of Spanish music since it's Cinco De Mayo day and all..
One for the the old skool peeps!

I've been listening to the
Evolution of Robin Thicke eversince I came into the office today. The album is growing on me. I especially love the last song of the album,
Angels.I've always had a soft spot for songs with keys or strings and this one's no different. The melancoly piano keys somehow compliments Thicke's white-man-soul voice. I don't quite fancy the faster numbers on the album though, it's the more downtempo sentimental songs I like. It's a sign that I'm growing old...
Imran suggested that I should have my own portfolio site. Well, I've been procrastinating that project since 2006! Whenever I had plans on getting it done, it'll somehow get derailed somewhere. I promise I will have one soon even if it's just one that uses a blog script like how most design
sites are now nowadays. Maybe I should start one only after I learn Flash. Then I can do a
beautiful Flashy one!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get to watch Spiderman 3 tonight...

Our tags on the table at Mayer's & May's wedding. I love the sound of
Mrs Irwan Abu Bakar. And no, I haven't watched Spiderman 3 yet. Get off my case! But it's all good. More so with Man Utd knocked out of the Champions League. Now I can finally stop hearing the talks of quadruple/treble going around here..
-10:26 AM

Make way you Chelski scums! For the Reds are marching on to Athens! Woohoo! Nothing beats the feeling of winning against one of the Rivals but to win it and go on to the final of the Champions League is priceless. Went through all cycles of emotions as I watched the game this morning from ecstasy when Agger scored (I shouted so loud that I woke up my poor sleeping wife), to anticipation when Kuyt hit the crossbar to relief when he finally put the ball into the net then to anguish when it was incorrectly ruled offside. I even panicked a lil when I saw Zenden stepping up to take a spot kick in the penalty shootout later, fearing he will miss. How silly of me to wrongly judge my own Liverpool player like that. So we are through! Bring on Athens baby! Man U, Milan we don't care, you know we'll beat you there!!
It's Wednesday, midweek and it's the first day at work for me seeing that I was away on Monday for reservist training, which turn out to be a non activity as our instructor had to be away for Cohesion Day and Tuesday being a public holiday. Was at Raffles Hotel's East India room for May & Mayer's wedding high tea reception. Was a bit too rowdy for me with kids running around and shouting at the top of their lungs. It was a funny affair at times when Mayer got on the microphone and said some hilarious things. He should try out as a stand-up comedian actually. May looked absolutely stunning in her chinese-style wedding dress and so did
Wifey who was so gorgeously made up. We were supposed to go on a date right after the wedding but we ended up going home instead because she was already struggling with her heels.
Next time then, darl, a date.. just me and you.. like old times...
